The Cosmic Dawn Center will host a virtual JWST proposal preparation workshop on October 26-28, 14:00-17:00 (CEST) each day, to replace the in-person gathering that was required to be cancelled due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Workshop participants, together with their DAWN hosts and support ESA JWST experts, will step through a number of hands-on exercises via a dedicated Slack channel for communication (workspace "jwst2020-copenhagen"). Live video interaction will also be an option, as necessary, for demonstration of particularly challenging aspects of the exercises, or for lengthy Q&A that would be too time-consuming to type into Slack.

This workshop is being held as part of the JWST Master Class initiative (https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/jwst/results), using the same materials from the "master" training your DAWN hosts received, in February 2020:

Participants are asked to review the pre-assignments and hands-on worksheets linked to this program, prior to the start of the DAWN workshop, and ensure that all required applications for the exercises can be successfully accessed and downloaded. Support will be available via the Slack channel for the set-up of the Astronomer's Proposal Tool (APT) and Exposure Time Calculator (ETC) in the days leading up to the start of the workshop.

Participants are not formally required to register for the workshop, but it does provide the opportunity to complete a workshop survey that will allow the hosts to tailor the experience to participants' needs.
