How to Apply:

To receive full consideration, applicants must submit their application for the PhD school in the following two steps: (1): Submit application on this website (Registration). (2): Send an email before the deadline (Dec. 20, 2025) containing the following two items to nbia-school@nbi.ku.dk. Please use the email subject: "Nordic Winter School 2026 - Application for [Full Name]" and name the two files as specified below.

  • Last Name-Slide.pdf
    Content: one slide in PDF format to be used for students to introduce themselves. Please include full name, contact information, and for example collaborators, research interests, skills, and relevant information that can help you connect with other students.

  • Last Name-CV.pdf
    Content: one PDF file of the student's CV's (maximum two pages)


There will be no registration fee for the School; however, accepted students cover their own lodging and dining expenses, which amounts to ~ 600 USD for the entire stay at the Hotel including all meals as well as tea/coffee/cookies. Transportation by bus back and forth from Oslo Airport to the Hotel is arranged by the School and will be free of charge for the participating students.

Financial Assistance: There are limited funds to help cover the accommodation and meals of students in need of financial assistance, and who would not be able to attend otherwise. Students can apply for this support by writing an email directly to the organizers of the School at nbia-school@nbi.ku.dk, with a description of their situation. Please use the email subject: "Nordic Winter School 2026 - Financial Assistance for [Full Name]". Funds will be allocated on the basis of the potential impact of the school on the student's career development.

NOTE

  • By registering on this website students are only filling in an application to attend the school.
  • Due to space limitations; we estimate that we will be able to accept a maximum of 40 students.
  • Accepted participants will be notified by email and the list of participants will be posted online.
  • Applicants should be mindful of the timeline outlined under "Important Dates".
