Practical Information

Local Transportation

Getting around Copenhagen is easy by public transportation.

Ticketing:

For ticketing, the mobile app "Mobilebilleter" is very useful. Otherwise, the City Pass Small is good to buy, at vending machines in the metro and at the airport. It is valid on buses, the metro, and S-trains, as well as the Harbour boats of Copenhagen.

To get to the conference venue, we recommend:

1) From the airport:

The fastest way to reach the conference venue from the airport ('Lufthavnen' stop) is via Metro line 2 (M2, the yellow line). Exit the metro at the stop 'Frederiksberg' (11 stops). The venue is about 10 minutes walk form the metro station. Here is a link to Google Maps.

2) From the central train station (Københavns Hovedbanegård or Kbh H):

Multiple options are available. Here are links with the different options:

  •     By bus: walk to Vesterport station (about 5 minutes) and take line 37. The final stop is called 'Dr. Abildgaards Allé (Thorvaldsensvej)' (6 stops). From the stop it is about 3 minutes walk to the venue.
  •     By metro: walk to Metro line 3 (M3, the red line) which is situated behind the train station (the stop is called 'København H')Stop at 'Frederiksberg' (3 stops). From the stop it is about 10 minutes walk to the venue.

3) Within Copenhagen:

  • The closest metro stations are: 'Frederiskberg' on the M3 line (red line) and 'Vanløse st.' on the M1 (green) and M" (yellow) lines.
  • The closest bus stops are line 37, line 1A and line 2A.

If you get a Rejsekort instead of a City Pass, available at most metro stations: Be sure to check in  ("Check Ind") and out ("Check Ud") in the metro, S-trains and buses, on the clearly marked blue points.

Conference lunch

Lunch will consist of sandwiches and be served at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences, Cafe Væksthuset, next to the conference venue. There is room for a few people to eat in the cafe's greenhouse and grounds. But we encourage attendees to walk over right across the road, where the botanical gardens of the university offer many spots to have lunch and fruitful discussions.

Lab visits

We would welcome visitors to the Center for Quantum Devices and the NBI, whether after the conference or on Tuesday the 30th of August. If you would like to visit the lab or specific research groups, please write to the organisers and we will arrange it.
