Travel and accommodation

Since the workshop features no registration fee, and since lunches and the workshop dinner are covered, participants mainly need to arrange travel to and from the venue, as well as accommodation. Below we provide some suggestions on options for doing so.

Travel

The venue is located in the small town of Sandvig on Bornholm, Denmark. Therefore, participants might need to arrange travel, first, to Copenhagen and from there to Bornholm and the venue itself.

Travel to Copenhagen

Copenhagen Airport serves international and national flights. Most destinations in Europe can be reached directly; for destinations outside Europe typically a transfer at a larger airport is needed.

Travel to Bornholm

By plane

Bornholms Airport in Rønne serves frequent flights every day from Copenhagen Airport, operated by Danish Air Transport (DAT). Flights take approx. 40 mins. You can get to Copenhagen Airport by Metro, train, or taxi.

By ferry

Bornholmslinjen operates several daily departures from Ystad (SE) to Rønne, Bornholm. Since the ferry departs Sweden, the easiest means of transportation is to use the bus service Kombardoexpressen, affiliated with the ferry operator, to book a combined bus-and-ferry trip from Copenhagen to Bornholm. It is possible to take the bus from Copenhagen Airport (CPH) or from Copenhagen Central Station (Hovedbanegården). More information about where the bus stops can be found here (in Danish).

Travel to the venue

From Rønne (airport or ferry terminal), there are regular bus routes to Sandvig tickets can be purchased through Rejseplanen or the local bus operator, BAT. Alternatively, you can order a taxi directly to the venue. Finally, if several people will be travelling together, you can contact the organiser to organise dedicated transport.

Accommodation

The area in and around Sandvig town boasts a wide variety of accommodation, in addition to the workshop venue itself. Below are a few options that are all within 500 meters of the venue:
