Description
There will be a student session at 13:10 before the main talk.
Abstract: Topological defects embody generalized symmetries in quantum systems. In this talk, I present a framework leveraging the topological aspects of global symmetry operators/defects to holographically represent universal properties of symmetric quantum systems, especially lattice models, in a topologically ordered theory one dimension higher. Using simple examples, I will demonstrate how this approach effectively organizes the universal characteristics of the system's phase diagram.
