HEAVYMETAL Consortium Meeting Spring 2024
HEAVYMETAL's first open consortium meeting on understanding r-process element formation in neutron star mergers, hosted by GSI in Paralia, Katerinis, Greece, will be held May 6–10, 2024. The workshop is dedicated to exploring new observational, experimental, and theoretical avenues in understanding the mergers of neutron stars. The main topics of focus will be:
- Observational data and interpretation of observations
- Radiative transfer in kilonova environments
- Hydrodynamic simulations of mergers and their coupling to nuclear physics
- New atomic data on r-process elements
