HEAVYMETAL III will be hosted in Carrickdale Hotel & Spa which is located just on the border between Co. Louth and Co. Down, just off Junction 20 on the N1 Dublin-Belfast road.
A short summary of options for travelling the venue have been listed below, please read the options and indicate in the registration form what your intended travel plans from Dublin/Belfast are to allow for any car pooling arrangements to be made in advance of your arrival.
There are several options for getting to Carrickdale from Dublin airport:
- Bus Éireann Expressway 100X towards Dundalk from Terminal 2: Disembark at "Dundalk Long Walk". Bus Éireann 160 towards Newry from Dundalk Long Walk: Disembark at "Carrickdale Hotel". Est. time ~2.5 hours
- Translink Goldliner X1 towards Belfast from Terminal 2: Disembark at Newry Bus Station. Bus Éireann 160 towards Dundalk from Newry Bus Station: Disembark at "Jonesborough", 1 min walk to hotel. Est. time ~2 hrs
- Car pool with UCD delegation: Details to be arranged case by case. Est. time ~1 hr
From Belfast:
- Translink Goldline 238 towards Newry from Europa Buscentre: Disembark at Newry Bus Station. Bus Éireann 160 towards Dundalk from Newry Bus Station: Disembark at "Jonesborough", 1 min walk to hotel. Est time ~2 hrs 45 min
- Enterprise Rail Replacement Service* from Belfast Lanyon Place to Newry Train Station. 10 min taxi/car pool with UCD delegation to Carrickdale. Est time ~1 hr

The venue is just off the Dublin-Belfast road. Transport from Dublin airport can be arranged via the organisers.
Cars will be available to collect people at the airport on Sunday afternoon/evening.
