HEAVYMETAL Consortium Meeting Spring 2025

The second of HEAVYMETAL's open consortium meetings on understanding r-process element formation in neutron star mergers, is hosted by the Niels Bohr Institute node of HEAVYMETAL in Ystad, Sweden and will be held May 4–9, 2025. The workshop is dedicated to exploring new observational, experimental, and theoretical avenues in understanding the mergers of neutron stars. The main topics of focus will be:

Observational data and interpretation of observations   
Radiative transfer in kilonova environments
Hydrodynamic simulations of mergers and their coupling to nuclear physics
New atomic data on r-process elements
