Description
In this review, I will provide an overview of the pathways to multiple star formation. I will discuss the improving agreement between theoretical models, numerical simulations, and observational surveys. Due to the very high frequency of stars formed as part of a multiple systems, planet formation should be strongly influenced by stellar companions. I will discuss the statistical evidence for its impact and ongoing work to include multiplicity in planet formation models.
