Practical information

Wireless and computer facilities: Wireless internet access is available throughout the Niels Bohr Institute. The eduroam network can be accessed with your username and password from your home institution. If you do not have an eduroam account, you can connect to “KU Guest”. Once connected, you open a browser window and enter your details. You then receive a text with a password, which along with your e-mail address will let you access the internet. This procedure must be repeated every day.

Lunches and breaks: Lunch will be served in the room opposite to Auditorium A. If you have informed our coordinator about dietary restrictions, there will be a specific serving for you. Breaks with coffee and tea will also be served in this room.

The Danish currency: You can obtain Danish ’Kroner’ (DKK 100 = €13,37 = $15,89) at the cash machine or bank at the airport, or at ATMs around the city. Most places accept VISA as well as MasterCard with chip. Please note, that you need the PIN code in order to pay with VISA or MasterCard.

Moving around Copenhagen: Other than walking or bicycling, the best way to move around Copenhagen is by bus or metro. The ticket machines take cards and cash (DKK only). A ticket lasts for one hour and costs 24 DKK. The buses accept cash only, and preferably the correct amount. Do not forget to purchase a ticket - the fine is 750 DKK! For other ticket options see here.
