Practical Information

Getting from the airport to the city centre in general

The easiest way to get from the airport to the city centre is to use the recently opened metro line, located in terminal 3, past the entrance to the trains. You can buy a ticket on the ground floor level at the vending machines or at the desk. You will need a 3-zone ticket. Note that there are no ticketing barriers. Beware though of the frequent ticket inspectors on the metro!

For better value (and to avoid fumbling around with money all the time) you can buy a *2 zone* 'klippekort' which you have to punch TWICE in the yellow machines (located near the metro itself) to travel from the airport to the city centre. Within the bounds of the city centre, this can then be used by punching once.

Further slightly outdated information on how to get to the institute can be found here.

Getting from the airport to hotel Nora in particular

Many participants will stay at Hotel Nora. Perhaps the most efficient way to reach the hotel is to take the Metro from the airport to Nørreport Station according to the above prescription. From there you can take bus 5A in the direction `Husum Torv', and get off at the stop `Ravnsborggade' (the first  stop after going over the lakes, and just the third  from Nørreport). The hotel is slightly further down the street, on the same side. Alternatively, you can walk about  15 minutes from Nørreport along Frederiksborggade, leading to Nørrebrogade just after you pass the lakes.  Note that you can also take the 5A bus all the way from the airport (ask the driver for a 3-zone ticket), though that is bound to take much longer (about 45 minutes).

For those participants who are already there on tuesday night

For those of you who will be in Copenhagen on tuesday night: the organizers will be having a drink in the `Nørrebro Bryghus' (Ryesgade 3) from about 9.00 pm. You are welcome to join in!

Directions are easy: From hotel Nora, just walk down Noerrebrogade towards the lakes and take the first left turn (Ravnsborggade). Walk 2-3 minutes along Ravnsborgade until you pass St. Hans Gade and you will see the brewhouse to your left.

For really urgent matters, you can reach the organizers at +45 4160 5418 (mobile Rutger).
