Moving around

Getting from the airport to the city centre

The easiest way to get from the airport to the city centre is to use the Metro, located in terminal 3, past the entrance to the trains. You can buy a ticket on the ground floor level at the vending machines or at the desk after exiting the baggage claim hall. You will need a 3-zone ticket, which costs 36 DKK.

Getting to the venue

Det Kongelige Danske Videnskabernes Selskab (venue for the conference) is located at H. C. Andersens Blvd. 35, 1553, Copenhagen, which can be found in this map. The new Metro station Rådhuspladsen (line M3) is the closest to the building. If you want to take a bus from the hotel to the venue, you will need a 2-zone ticket, which can be purchased from the bus driver for 24 DKK (make sure to have coins). Alternatively you can get a 5-day City Pass that also covers the airport. You can read more about tickets for public transport here. The VisitCopenhagen official tourist site encourages you to use the mobile phone app - this is an option, and the cheapest one, but our previous visitors have not had luck making this work on non-danish mobile phones (please let us know if you do manage to make it work).

For S-tog (eg. light train or S-bahn), metro, and bus journeys, www.rejseplanen.dk can be used to find routes.

Cycling

By far the best way to get around Copenhagen is by bicycle. You can read about the several options for renting a bike here. There is also a pay-per-ride option here.
