Practical Information

  • The meeting takes place in Auditorium A at the Niels Bohr Institute, Blegdamsvej 17,
    starting at 09:30, Monday July 7.
  • Desk space near the lecture rooms will be provided for participants.
  • AV-equipment:
  • Screen-projector connected to laptop.
  • Overhead projector.
  • Blackboard
  • Wireless internet:
  • There are transmitters near the Auditorium (building C), in the NBIA building (building B),
    and near the NBI small lunch room (building F). WEP key will be given upon request.
  • There is a limited number of ethernet sockets (access via dhcp). Bring your own ethernet cable.
  •  A number of desk-top machinces with internet connections will be available.

  • Internet access: A few computers are available for those who do not bring a laptop. Userid and password will be provided on request..
  • Reception:  There wll be an informal reception Monday at 17:15.

  • Conference Dinners:  On Wednesday night a dinner will be arranged.

Visas

If you have a passport from an EU country, the USA or the Nordic countries you do not need a visa.  Denmark is in the Schengen area, so If you have a visa to a Schengen country, you do not need a visa.  Other participants are advised to contact the nearest Danish embassy or consulate or travel agency for information about the passport and visa requirements for entry to Denmark. You can also look in the Danish immigration office web site for information about visa application procedures and required documentation. Contact the conference secretary if you need a letter from us to support your visa application.

Money matters

Denmark is not in the Euro currency area. The Danish monetary unit is the Danish krone (DKK), divided into 100 øre.
As of January 2008 the exchange rates are 1 USD=5.06 DKK, 1 Euro=7.45 DKK, 1 GBP=10.0 DKK. You can look up the current exchange rates for these and other currencies here.
