Recently, there has been surprising progress in the program to define lattice gauge theories with exactly preserved supersymmetries. The new constructions have been based on new ideas from both field theory and string theory, including orbifolding, deconstruction, topological field theory, Eguchi-Kawai reduction and an intriguing connection to Dirac-Kahler fermions on the lattice. Almost all these different constructions have in common that they preserve only a subset of the continuum supersymmetries, and in fact links can be made between the different formulations so that they are indeed equivalent already at fixed lattice spacings. In this workshop we will focus on recent developments, and in particular look beyond, towards numerical simulations and towards applications in gauge-gravity dualities.
